OK, Part’na, get round the campfire, cause ‘Part TWO’ of @EchoChamberFP is about to get underway!
This was one of those serendipitous situations, that followed from ‘episode 371’. The great Elliott Lester saw the review and was down to conversate. And it was a splendid ol time, getting into the challenges of making the film, from production hurdles to unique casting choices, and so much more!!!
'The Thicket' is directed by Elliott Lester, and written by Chris Kelley, based on the 2013 book by Joe R. Lansdale. When a bounty hunter (Peter Dinklage) and a band of unlikely heroes (Gbenga Akinnagbe, Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace) pursue a brutal killer (Juliette Lewis), they find themselves in a deadly no-man’s-land known as The Thicket.

Elliott Lester's feature film NIGHTINGALE, starring David Oyelowo and produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B, premiered in 2015 on HBO and earned David a "Best Actor" win at the Critic's Choice Awards. The film also received nominations at the Emmys and Golden Globes. His most recent film AFTERMATH (fka 478), starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & Scoot McNairy and produced by Darren Aronofsky, was released in 2018 via Lionsgate.
Elliott has completed THE THICKET which stars Peter Dinklage, Leslie Grace, Juliette Lewis, Esmé Creed-Miles, Levon Hawke and Macon Blair. The Thicket is being released theatrically in 2024. In addition, he is attached to direct the sci-fi thriller CONTINUUM for Entertainment Studios with Josephson Entertainment producing.
In TV, Elliott recently sold SAY THEIR NAMES to HBO, which he will direct and EP. Sonya Winton & Jonathan Kidd (LOVECRAFT COUNTRY) are writing, with Tribeca producing. Elliott has previously directed multiple episodes of TV, including WILL (FX) and CONTAINMENT (CW). Elliott is also an established music video director having worked with Avril Lavigne, Selena Gomez, and The Fray, among others.
Elliott lives in Los Angeles with his wife Brooke and his son Levi-Benjamin.
